It is that time where we dream away the winter with plans for the year. Of course you want to make sure that whatever you have planned for home renovation is on trend. We predicted (very accurately – check out our blog from last July; ) the colour of the year 2026.
So grab a cuppa and a paint chart and lets see what the colour trends 2026 are going to be…
The Pantone Colour of the Year 2026 is Cloud Dancer. This is a gentle off-white which acts as an ideal canvas or counterpoint for brighter colours and accessories.
Our prediction was for a “Creamy White” which would make any smaller room feel more spacious and, we think, would pair wonderfully with starker furniture in bold black for a chic monochrome finish.
We have had some great wall panelling ideas combining this neutral colour tone and some feature wall panelling for spot on interior design trends which is here to stay! Our top pick is for the sleek and modern Luen sideboard. This pairing of black and white with oak effect fluted fronts matching the warm white tones of the panelling.
Don’t limit your use of calming off-white to wall paint though – why not opt for calming and zen “Cloud Dancer” style colours for your bathroom furniture? We love the idea of using the Aster white to bring some trendy zen to any bathroom, cloakroom or en suite.
Pinterest predicts 2026 will be all about Cool Blue, this light cool hue which brightens up any space. Perfect to combine with blankets and throws for a wintery feel or add in some brighter colours for year round décor.
Our prediction was for “Sky Blue” a hue ideal for making any space feel larger; or lighten a darker space.
Our favourite pairing for Sky Blue is with the Indus table. Dining rooms can tend to feel cluttered but the combination of the Indus extendable dining table, simple art and luminous Sky Blue wall makes this dining room feel incredibly spacious and open.
Ikea’s 2026 color of the year is rebel pink. The first of the more flamboyant colour picks this is all about fun and characterful décor. It is not so loud though that it cannot be used as a punchy colour drenching option too!
Our prediction was for muted rose, a fresh pink that adds warmth and colour and still leaves space for more! This pink is an ideal foil for neutral coloured furniture use it as a colour pop on a feature wall.
Combine either with an oversized clock and the Cari dining table, the opulence of the white marble effect finish with the muted rose wall is just perfect, for a chic dining room.
Alternatively go big with a whole behind headboard wall, some simple frame feature wall panelling and hanging bedside lighting beautiful with the striking and simple Kaspian Cashmere range!
WGSN are a company who know a thing or two about colour trends. Their pick for 2026 colour of the year is a bold and beautiful Transformative Teal. A nuanced and balanced merge of Deep Navy Blue and an Aqua Sea Green with a wide range of uses.
We predicted that Light Teal would be big in 2026, a wonderful colour to add characterful and yet calming hues to any room.
Such a bold and modern colour needs to have a contemporary style of furniture to match. The Luen range with its stark black frames and fluted oak effect fronts is robust enough to stand up to the brightness of Transformative Teal and match its modernity.
Runway have done just that with their colour of the year without a doubt the boldest suggestion. The striking Aperol Orange is perfect to brighten a dark corner, for a feature wall or colour pop. This colour most of all is one to be used lightly!
We predicted a more muted orange in the form of Weathered Clay. This natural tone evokes homely and comfortable feelings and would combine beautifully with a limewash to add a clay-like tactility.
We love this hue to add warmth to a bathroom; a two layered wall with natural wood shelving and some greenery make this comfy without being twee and then is further lifted with a modern mirror and our striking Nero bathroom fluted vanity cabinet.
