Autumn Trends 2026

The interior design world eagerly awaits Benjamin Moore’s Colour of the Year. For 2025, the chosen shade is Cinnamon Slate, which they describe as;

“This delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown offers enduring style and a modern sensibility.”

It works particularly well in living rooms and dining areas, where warm hues make the space feel inviting and intimate. Consider pairing it with very on trend statement panelling to create the same effect we did.

Wherever you use it, we think this cosy colour is perfect to use in a big way. Think – colour drenched walls, feature panelling and plenty of complementary shades and hues. Too heavy for a light scandi feel it pairs perfectly with a more eclectic and busier bohemian interior.

Are you interested? At Impact Furniture, we believe that keeping up with trends doesn’t mean a full home makeover. So here is our style guide to using the Benjamin Moore Colour of the Year in a Boho interior.

We do have a whole blog about this, but in short, Boho interiors are about layering and creativity;

  • Layering textures, colours, styles and finishes to create an individualistic space composed of the combinations of pieces

  • Creativity in choices of combinations, and especially trying out new mixtures, new colour pairings and styles.

Done well, this brings a highly individual and cosy-busy feel to a space, done badly it feels overwhelming, garish and loud. Here is our “shop the look” for the Benjamin Moore Colour of the Year and our beautiful Nuvo sideboard. We’ll explore how to get a boho style into your home, from statement furniture to paint colour, accessories, and lighting solutions.

This example is designed to act as a springboard for you to create your own stunning Bohemian interiors!

Create Contrast with the Nuvo Black Sideboard

One of the most effective ways to hit a Boho note is by contrasting styles or colours. In this room we use a sleek, modern storage unit with curved edges alongside traditional wall panelling.

Our Nuvo Black Sideboard Cabinet has elegantly ribbed doors, these add subtle texture and visual depth to any space, and tie in with the panelling lines here. As this a stylistic contrast it is important to ensure the colours are complementary.

The deep black pairs wonderfully with the warm, earthy tones of Cinnamon Slate. The two colours together bringing a luxurious feel to the space.

Aesthetics aside the Nuvo Sideboard brings ample storage space in a slimline design, perfect to ensure that your interior is busy with boho-feature pieces rather than clutter!

How to get the look

Now you have a strong starting point and need to accessorise to really hit those bohemian notes.

Options here could include;

  • Metallics (polished brass, brushed gold) to add in new textures and interest in terms of reflections and play of light.

  • Fabrics (textile art, rugs) to soften the space with more gentle textures and lighten the black and Cinnamon Slate

  • Colour (patterned coasters, or bright art) these pops of colour would add a more playful note to the serious backdrop

We’ve decided to touch on all three to really highlight the colour of the year.

Accessories Used

First off we have opted for some muted glass vases in complementary hues;

  • LSA International Beacon Candleholder/Vase (Taupe & Jet Black)
    This versatile piece from LSA International is both a candleholder and a statement vase.The pleated glass texture and shade reiterate the lines of the sideboard wonderfully.
    (For a cheaper option you can try the H&M Large Glass Vase in dark brown!)

Perfect for mixing and matching seasonal blooms to creates a visually interesting and artistic layered effect.

We then added in both metallic and fabric notes with a stylish standing lamp with fabric lampshade – the Navy Rico Floor Lamp from Next. The simple metal frame and metallic lamp shade interior complement the rest of our set up beautifully.

Not only does this add further bohemian vibes but the gentle lighting  enhances the fluted texture on our Nuvo buffet cabinet and brings out the full tonal range of the beautiful Benjamin Moore colour .

A little different: Farrow & Ball’s Sulking Room Pink

Love the Bohemian vibes but not a fan of Cinnamon Slate? Look no further than Farrow & Ball’s Sulking Room Pink for a more daring and refined contrast. This muted rose hue pairs beautifully against the black buffet. Use liberally in bedrooms and living areas, to create a modern, bohemian haven.

This wonderful shade is also very similar to the Ikea colour of the year 2026 “Rebel Pink” which you can find out all about using here.

Final Thoughts: Creating a Stylish, Timeless Space

We hope this guide as to how to use the Benjamin Moore colour of the year has sparked some creative home design ideas.

Whether you are a Cinnamon Slate or a Sulking Room Pink fan we can all agree that the cosy, and individually tailored nature of boho décor is something special.
