Adjusting your soft close kitchen cabinet doors may seem like a daunting prospect but it is a piece of cake – here is our basic how to guide to adjusting kitchen cabinet doors and drawer fronts.

First things first, identify how the door or drawer needs to be adjusted!
Take a good hard look at the door and figure out is the door hanging too high, too low, too far left or right or is it sticking out too much at the top or bottom (or is it more than one of these!).
When you have identified check any adjacent doors as (especially if this is a run of kitchen doors) you may have a knock-on effect for the next door in the kitchen, likewise for drawer line units be sure to double check your drawers do not need adjusting too!
Now you are ready for adjusting door hinges skip to the relevant section(s) below:
Step One: Open the door and ensure you have clear access to all hinges,
Step Two: Using the screwdriver loosen the screws above and below the hinges slightly –
Step Three: Gently push the hinges upwards and tighten the loosened screws partially
Step Four: Double check the door height
IF the door is the correct height fully tighten the screws, make a cup of tea – Job done.
IF the door needs further adjustment go back to step Two and repeat.
Step One: Open the door and ensure you have clear access to all hinges,
Step Two: Using the screwdriver loosen the screws above and below the hinges slightly –
Step Three: Gently push the hinges downwards and tighten the loosened screws partially
Step Four: Double check the door height
IF the door is the correct height fully tighten the screws, make a cup of tea – Job done.
IF the door needs further adjustment go back to step Two and repeat.
Step One: Open the door and ensure you have clear access to all hinges,
Step Two: Using the screwdriver loosen the large central screws on each of the hinges slightly – do not loosen too much or the door may fall off!
Step Three: Gently push the door inwards and tighten the loosened screws partially
Step Four: Double check the door
IF the door is hanging correctly then fully tighten the screws, make a cup of tea – Job done.
IF the door needs further adjustment go back to step Two and repeat.
Step One: Open the door and ensure you have clear access to all hinges,
Step Two: Using the screwdriver loosen the large central screws on each of the hinges slightly – do not loosen too much or the door may fall off!
Step Three: Gently pull the door away from the unit slightly and tighten the loosened screws partially
Step Four: Double check the door
IF the door is hanging correctly then fully tighten the screws, make a cup of tea – Job done.
IF the door needs further adjustment go back to step Two and repeat.
Step One: Open the door and ensure you have clear access to all hinges,
Step Two: Using the screwdriver loosen the large central screw on each of the hinges slightly – do not loosen too much or the door may fall off!
Step Three: Twist the small central screw ¼ turn right (tightening it) – be very gentle it is better to make several small tweaks then it is to over adjust and have to tweak back the other way.
Step Four: Double check the door
IF the door is hanging correctly then fully tighten the screws, make a cup of tea – Job done.
IF the door needs further adjustment go back to step Three and repeat.
Step One: Open the door and ensure you have clear access to all hinges,
Step Two: Using the screwdriver loosen the large central screw on each of the hinges slightly – do not loosen too much or the door may fall off!
Step Three: Twist the small central screw ¼ turn left (loosening it) – be very gentle it is better to make several small tweaks then it is to over adjust and have to tweak back the other way.
Step Four: Double check the door
IF the door is hanging correctly then fully tighten the screws, make a cup of tea – Job done.
IF the door needs further adjustment go back to Step Three and repeat.
Step One: Open the drawer and ensure you have clear access to the front,
Step Two: Using the screwdriver adjust the lower central screw on the plate on the right-hand drawer side (facing the unit) slightly.
– Twist the screw ¼ turn left (loosening it) to drop the drawer front
– Twist the screw ¼ turn right (tightening it) to raise the drawer front
Step Three: Using the screwdriver adjust the lower central screw on the plate on the left-hand drawer side (facing the unit) slightly
– Twist the screw ¼ turn right (tightening it) to drop the drawer front
– Twist the screw ¼ turn left (loosening it) to raise the drawer front
Please Note: this will be the inverse of the other side of the drawer!
IF the drawer is hanging correctly then close it, make a cup of tea – Job done.
IF the drawer needs further adjustment go back to Step Three and repeat.
Step One: Open the drawer and ensure you have clear access to the front,
Step Two: Using the screwdriver adjust the lower central screw on the plate on the left-hand drawer side (facing the unit) slightly – do not loosen too much or the drawer front may fall off!
Step Three: Slide the Drawer front slightly, to either left or right as required.
IF the drawer is hanging correctly then retighten the screws, close it, make a cup of tea – Job done.
IF the drawer needs further adjustment go back to Step Two and repeat.
